I had the pleasure of photographing my nephew and his bride to be.  When I met Dom he was 13 years old and the cutest little thing ever...now he's all grown up (and now super handsome if I do say so myself) and about to become a husband! I'm still trying to wrap my head around it! But I have to say I'm very proud of the man he has become and I couldn't be happier for the two of them!

So this was my first time ever documenting a live birth!  Trish and I have been friends for years and when she found out she was pregnant she asked me to shoot the announcement photo.  After that I had thrown out the idea of documenting the birth to which Trish wasn't sure how she felt....and that's understandable as this is not for everyone! It's an extremely intimate time and if you aren't comfortable having someone in the room clicking away it may not be for you.  So when Trish decided it was something she wanted to do I was over the moon.  I started wracking my brain on how to approach something like this.  Then it hit me...you can't prepare for this.  It's something so completely in the moment that it would be impossible to have a plan in place.  So I decided to just be present in the moment...and take it all in and try and document everything as it was happening naturally...there are no staged shots, there was no direction.  Just pure raw emotion.  Being a mom myself and having went through this experience twice before I could appreciate everything she was going through and I shot it the way I would want to remember it....I poured my heart into it and I hope that shows in every single shot.  Trish and Mike now have a timeline of their birthing story that they have for years to come...and maybe someday to share with Camden.

This past weekend I had the pleasure of photographing my niece and her husband just weeks before they meet their little bundle of joy!  We had yet another snowy weekend so we decided to take advantage and make some photos outside but first I had to capture some shots indoors of Bradley's room and mom and dad anxiously awaiting his arrival! Bradley will be my first great nephew and I couldn't be more excited!! I plan on loving him up as much as they will let me!

I met Erika & Chris last year when we had our bridal meeting, they were so cute and in love and two very down to earth people that I knew we would have a great time on their special day! The day of their wedding it was cloudy and very rainy...but we still had a blast in spite of the weather.  We started at Rumors Salon in Latham.  Oh I just loved Rumors!! It was so pink, bright and girly!! Erika was so calm and so at ease the entire day....

Man, It feels like ages since I last blogged a session! I have had an incredible and very busy summer meeting some wonderful new clients.  One of my favorite sessions this summer was Jannine and Kristen's engagement shoot.  I met Jannine when I was a kid....we lived one block away from each other and her brother happens to be my best friend and one of my longest and dearest friends today.  Jannine was like the big sister I never had and I'd like to think I was maybe like the little sister she never had...and never wanted...ha!   I was super excited when I heard she and Kristen were engaged and even more excited when they asked me to photograph their engagment and wedding!!
